digital disruption with andrew bassat
co-founder and group ceo, seek ltd
monday 24 june, 6-9pm
On the 24th of June, The Young Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce was delighted to host 150 guests to hear from Andrew Bassat, Co-founder and Group CEO of SEEK Ltd.
In 1997, Andrew Bassat co-founded SEEK, the first online version of print employment classifieds that would change how we browse and broadcast job vacancies forever.
This young company shook the print industry, challenging newspaper giants Fairfax Media and News Ltd and, by 2005, SEEK's disruptive nature landed it on the ASX.
Today, SEEK spans 18 countries and has relationships with over 190 million job seekers and over 900,000 hirers.
With a market cap of over $7 billion, SEEK remains a dominant player in the Australian jobs classifieds market, in spite of growing competition.
In an intimate interview, Andrew will share how they grew this small, Melbourne-based company into an international household name and what challenges SEEK now faces in the age of digital disruption.
Andrew Bassat is the Co-Founder, Group CEO and an Executive Director of SEEK Ltd. and President of the St Kilda Football Club. We can't wait to hear from him.
